The flight instructor rating FI(H) allows the holder to give flight instruction for the issue of the PPL(H) licence.
The course comprises of 30 hours (minimum requirement) flight instruction and 125 of theoretical ground instruction and teaching techniques, with the option of an additional 1 hours night flying to be able to teach night ratings.
There is a pre-course entry flight test which will assess the ability of the candidate to undertake the course.
The requirements for this course are:
- Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL)
- Minimum 250 hours flight time on helicopters
of which 100 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
- 10 hours instrument flight time
- 20 hours cross country flight as PIC
- Pass the pre course flight test
After completion of the course there is a practical ground and flight examination with a Flight Instructor Examiner FIE(H)
